Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How many bags of poo will the pod store?
The Whifti Walks Poop Pod will store up to two medium size poops. To get maximum space/storage, you must let the air out of the bag before you tie it off. The average dog passes approximately 340 grams of poop a day. Our pod has a capacity of 500mls to accommodate this volume. Ensure the bag has the air let out before tying the knot so you can easily fit it in the pod.
Do I need to empty and clean the pod after every use?
You should empty the pod after each use to avoid the pod becoming smelly. Leave the pod open to air out in between uses. You can rinse it as much as you wish and wipe the exterior to keep it fresh.
Will the pod attach to my own lead?
Yes, the pod has a clip that will attach to the metal attachment loop near your lead handle. Some leads do not have this attachment loop, to solve this problem we have included a large ring that can be attached through the lead handle, allowing you to clip the pod on securely.
What are the pod's measurements?
Height: 19.5cm
Weight: 186 grams
Capacity: 500mls
Bag roll space: 2.5cm in height and 6cm in length. Max bags per roll are 10 to fit space and be functional. Otherwise, it can be used for storage.
Why is it best to use biodegradable poop bags?
Using biodegradable poo bags is environmentally responsible. Unlike traditional plastic bags, biodegradable options break down much more quickly, reducing long-term environmental impact. This helps minimise plastic pollution and supports a more sustainable waste disposal choice for pet owners.
What are the Whifti Walks Dog Poop Bags made from?
CORN+PBAT+PLA. Compostable dog poo bags often boast a magical combination of PBAT (polybutyrate adipate terephthalate), PLA (polylactic acid), and cornstarch. Let's break down this eco-friendly trio:
- PBAT (Polybutyrate Adipate Terephthalate): This component adds flexibility and strength to the bag. It helps the bag handle the less-than-pleasant task while ensuring it breaks down efficiently.
- PLA (Polylactic Acid): Derived from plant sugars (usually corn), PLA is a biodegradable polymer that contributes to the bag's eco-friendly credentials.
- CORN: The golden star of the show! Cornstarch provides the bag's compostable foundation. When combined with PBAT and PLA, it creates a bag that decomposes faster and leaves behind nutrient-rich compost.
How should I dispose of the used dog poo bags?
-
Choose Biodegradable Bags: Opt for eco-friendly bags made from cornstarch or plant fibres. They break down faster than traditional plastics and leave a smaller carbon pawprint.
-
Invest in a Dog Poop Container: Consider getting a dedicated container for your dog's waste, i.e. The Whifti Walks Dog Poop Pod.
-
Purpose-built Composting Systems: Believe it or not, dog poop can be composted! Create or buy a separate composting bin specifically for your dog's waste, and follow proper guidelines for safe composting.
-
Place in the general waste bin: if you cannot compost it appropriately.
